About

Taylor Page

I grew up in Sydney, Australia, in a very creative household. My mum writes beautiful poetry, my eldest brother writes children’s stories, my middle brother writes fantasy and my dad writes screenplays.

I have always read books. When I was a child, my mum would read me Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter, along with other classics.

My mum has always been my greatest influence. She has always encouraged me to write and continue to better myself.

I had always planned on becoming a primary school teacher; however, when I left high school and entered University, I quickly realised that wasn’t what I wanted to do. I went into child care instead. That was my real passion. I completed a traineeship, then bounced around a few centres before landing at my current workplace. I have been there for over five years now. The company I work for are incredibly supportive, and have celebrated my achievements.

I have always loved writing. Even as a young child, I would make up stories, write plays and invent new characters. My writing style has never been conventional, although when it comes to a classic romance story, it’s as conventional as it gets!

I wrote Chapter One at a time in my life when I was feeling very vulnerable. I had just had a cancer scare; we were all going through a pandemic, and I lost a very young family member.

I realised that life was too short to miss out on the things I always wanted to do. Creative writing was a way for me to cope and was a personal goal I had always wanted to achieve.

I lead a busy life, and writing is just a small part. I also do lots of volunteer work, which is incredibly rewarding. I have always loved to give back to the community, and have done so ever since I was a child. Another trait I share with my mum.

Fun Fact - In all my books there is a phrase that i was given by my brother to work in. If you think you know what it is, email me and tell me what you thought it was. There may be a prize for those that get it right!

What I’ve Been Working On

I will reserve this space to keep you all updated with what I’m currently working on, other than writing.

My latest project is getting my home office back into operational mode. I suffer from a few mental health issues, and as a result, I find it hard to keep certain areas of my house clean. My room and office in particular. The rest of the house is tidy and organised, but the two places that no one else besides myself go, are my room and my office. They are my spaces that I am just not motivated to keep tidy, which eventually renders them unusable, which is what has happened to my office. So I will be working on that over the next few weeks, which I am very excited about.

I have just had surgery, so I won’t be doing any heavy lifting for a little bit, but I can make a start.

Wish me luck, it’s going to be a big job.

I have also been working on the cover of Chapter Three. I made the cover of Chapter One myself, then paid for Chapter Two. It was such a long and drawn-out process getting the cover to a point where I was moderately happy with it, that I never want to go through that again. So I will be taking the reins on the book cover design once more.

I will be attending the Sunshine Coast Fiction Festival from the 7th to the 9th of November 2025.

Blog - An Inside Look at My Life

2025 So Far…

If I thought last year was crazy, this year has been worse.

At the end of 2024, I broke my hand at work, which was a horrendous experience. The doctors had no idea what to do, cast it wrong, then decided it shouldn’t have been in a cast in the first place, then work got all funny about it, because it happened at work. Then that triggered a whole bunch of mental health issues for me, which I was already suffering from, but hadn’t really acknowledged. Work then became insufferable. Nothing I did was ever good enough, even though I was only doing what I was told to do, by myself, I might add. That only made my mental health worse. I dreaded going to work, and I didn’t have it in me to write. And I have permanent nerve damage in my right hand due to the break and it being cast wrong. I know, I could pursue legal action, but it’s not worth it.

I then had some health complications. A lump was found, then a series of tests and appointments, and a surgery followed. It’s still ongoing. This also hasn’t helped.

On the bright side, I did fix the formatting issues with my books. I bought a great program that allowed me to format the books perfectly, page numbers and all!

I resigned from my job this week, and it was the best decision I have ever made. I will now be working on projects that I have put off because I didn’t have the time or mental capacity to do them.

Life, am I right?

Anyway, be good.
